What’s included
Each week, via a workbook and an in-depth video, we cover a different aspect of worldbuilding, as follows:
- The physical world
- Culture and society
- Research
- Creating characters
- The conflict
- The world and the plot
- Story immersion
- Bringing it all together
- Eight pre-recorded video lessons
- Eight accompanying workbooks with details and reminders, tips, asides, and bad puns
- Eight exercises to consolidate what you’ve learnt and begin to build a comprehensive world for your novel.
- If you complete each exercise in full, by the end of the course you’ll have an approximately 12,000 word long ‘style guide’ covering all aspects of your world that you can refer back to whenever necessary
- Lifetime access to a Discord server to chat with me and others on the course, plus alumni. We cheer each other on, set writing challenges, have ad hoc group video catch ups, show off our work, and more.
Gold and Silver tiers
In addition, gold and silver tier students have access to live 1-2-1 Q&As with me after each chapter is complete, either individually (gold) or in a group of at least three students, so sign up with your friends (silver). Each session covers a different aspect of worldbuilding and we can dissect the content and relate it specifically to your WIP if you have one, or do the work to plan your next project

Bronze tier
This is the self-study course. While you won’t have access to feedback from me, you are still a member of the Discord server and can ask the community in there for advice, share snippets of work for feedback, and ask any questions you have.
